Executive order would limit eminent domain
Um, hello? Isn't that pretty much the only time the federal government uses eminent domain to seize private property, for public works-type stuff like roads and bridges? This absolutely meaningless gesture still leaves local governments - easily the most flagrant abusers of eminent domain in recent years - free to continue to rape property owners under any pretext they choose.
Then there's the unmitigated gall of George W. Bush - who became a millionaire by seizing private property through eminent domain to build a baseball stadium - posturing on the issue.
